In the simplest term, Innovation could be defined as converting ideas into new or improved products, processes, and services. Undoubtedly, Innovation is about taking inventions to the marketplace by translating scientific knowledge into products, services, and offerings for economic growth and social development to unleash the creative potential of our youth. Youth of our society, need to play a crucial role at every step to shape the innovation ecosystem. Hence, we should have comprehensive and functional ecosystems to foster innovation and research. This ecosystem will encourage, inspire and nurture young students by exposing them to new ideas and processes resulting in innovative activities in their formative years.

The subject matter so that our youth think in terms of being employers rather than employees. With this backdrop, The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) has been established at the Institute of Technology, under the aegis of the University of Kashmir with a vision to change the mindset of the students towards innovation and entrepreneurship by providing them an enabling ecosystem in the university system. This will inculcate in them the thrill and skill of becoming ‘job providers’ rather than remaining as ‘job seekers’ in the market.
